Qatari culture to be showcased in Brussels

THE Qatari mission in Brussels is set to organise a ‘Qatar Week’ in April, Qatar’s Ambassador to Belgium, Abdullah Falah Abdullah al-Doussary has said.

He was speaking to Gulf Times, while accompanying Prince Philippe and his delegation, on a visit to ‘The Pearl-Qatar’ project on Wednesday.

“The event in the European capital will mean, showing our rich culture and heritage to the rest of the world,” explained al-­Doussary, while observing that “It will be a wonderful opportunity to dispel stereotypes concerning the region.”

Belgium, with a population of almost 10.4mn is one of the most densely populated states in Europe and one of the founding members of the European Economic Community and the European, Union. The headquarters of the European Union are also located in Brussels, the capital.

“We understand the strategic depth of Brussels and would like to further the bilateral relations in a wide range of fields,” stated al-Doussary, who also heads Qatar’s mission to the European Union.

Belgian royals open Dialogic Qatar offices

CROWN Prince Phillipe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium have opened the offices of Dialogic Qatar, as part of the Belgian economic mission’s visit.

The official visit was hosted by the management of Dialogic-Qatar including the chairman, Philippe Housiaux, the Qatari partner, Farukh Mohamed Azad, and the managing director, Harald Vervaecke.

A spokesman said that the aim of the event was for the royal visitors to “officially inaugurate the company, receive an impression of Dialogic’s participation in projects related to sports, culture and entertainment in Qatar and witness the signing of an agreement between Dialogic Qatar and AWEX, the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency.”

“Dialogic Qatar is a limited liability company set up in the State of Qatar. It specialises in providing services, advice, consultancy and techniques in the field of networking, bidding, project and event management, marketing and communication, as well as in the organisation of cultural social and sporting projects,” added the spokesman.

Dialogic Qatar is a branch of Dialogic, a company specialised in marketing and communication based in Brussels, Belgium, that celebrated its 21st anniversary on 7 November.
